Vic Damone aka Vito Rocco Farinola was born in Brooklyn NY in 1928. Inspired by Frank Sinatra at an early age, he began to take voice lessons and sing in his local church choir. While working at the Paramount Theater, he met Perry Como, who referred him to a local band leader. He then entered a talent competition on Arthur Godfrey's Talent Search show, which he won in 1947. He then met Milton Berle who was able to get him work at two night clubs. Later that year he was signed to Mercury Records and his career took off. This 2014 collection includes some of his better known favorites such as "Can't Take My Eyes Off You," "The Look of Love," "Little Green Apples" and many more. Sixteen great songs at a real low price.
