Bob Delevante, formerly 1/2 of the brother duo The Delevantes, once again has created a fresh, witty and energetic collection of smart country-rock, Columbus and the Colossal Mistake on Relay Records. The multi-talented and award-winning songwriter, guitarist, photographer, graphic designer and producer continues to create snapshots of the simple things in life and meditations on the unforeseen consequences of exploration. The new self-produced CD demonstrates Delevante's growth as an artist and includes friends and special guests from both his native New Jersey and his current home in Nashville: Garry Tallent (E Street Band), Emmylou Harris, Buddy Miller, Southside Johnny and Kenny Vaughn. Though the new work's sound is firmly planted in his past work, Columbus, has a bite and an eye to the future. As well as being an award winning songwriter and musician, he is an accomplished photographer who's work has been featured in B&W magazine, Photographer's Forum, national ad campaigns and on the cover of magazines. As a graphic designer he recently won awards for a CD packages he created for artist like Julie Lee and Rod Picott. He has designed book covers for Farm Aid, album covers for Ricky Skaggs, and the occasional birth announcement of his children. Furthermore, as a producer Delevante has recorded albums for countless bands in and around Nashville (The Coalmen, Greg Trooper, Duane Jarvis). In 2002, he formed Relay Station, a creative company that facilitates all of these various mediums from a studio behind his house. Few artists are able to merge their mediums in such a lyrical and cohesive manner which allows the listener/viewer the ability to see their hands, eyes and heart.
