Jazz Bandits, they have been called, Dr Dingo, that once again stretch the rules in a hair-rising journey between the extremes of jazz at their third album Relaxin' at Kartong Inn. Short pieces by free-form maestro Ornette Coleman as well as own material, free improvisations and one or two capers into the world of pop are all delivered with the perfect balance between burlesque humour and deep seriousness. Guest vocalist Lina Nyberg appears on a couple of tracks, of which one is a very sensitive interpretation of the standard tune Like a Lover. Tico tico and Malaika are other well-known melodies that are exposed to the groups loving assault. Nobody is bored in Dr Dingo's company.
