A mixed ensemble... Audiences across the country are talking about the newest addition to The Acappella Company. Durant is a group of six young men and women with a passion for making music and praising the Lord. With energetic stage presence, powerful vocals and a style all their own, Durant is spreading the gospel of Jesus through their unique blend of rich a cappella tradition with the influence of contemporary styles. Durant members include siblings Melissa Lancaster, Kim Lancaster-Brantley and Anthony Lancaster, along with Rachel Tuggle, Darren Whorton and Mandy Wilson. Several of the members performed together in the group X-Changed at Lipscomb University before forming Durant. The name "Durant" comes from the Lancasters' grandfather and is in honor of his amazing Christian influence in their lives. Because of their versatility and desire to share their music with people, Durant's motto is "Yeah, we do that." They embrace a wide variety of musical genres and styles to appeal to a vastly diverse audience. Their album, RIDE received the CASA nomination for Best Religious album from the Contemporary A Cappella Society, so be sure to pick up a few dozen copies and share with your friends.
