Ed Ryland has extensive experience in writing, recording and leading Christian music. For many years Ed performed with the acoustic group Sugarhill and continues to perform occasionally in solo and group venues. He has written both Christian and secular music, all compositions reflecting his devotion to God, family and friends. Ed has four albums of Christian music with a new secular collection of original songs to be available in early 2009. Ed also contributed to two Sugarhill albums and another written and produced by noted Arkansas storyteller and songwriter/singer Charley Sandage. Ed's style reflects his rural Arkansas background, where he listened to all sorts of music growing up. Much of the music is reflective and nearly all of it has a strong acoustic flavor, as the tunes were composed with accompaniment from Ed's guitar. Ed is a retired teacher, and much of his free time is devoted to the Kairos Prison Ministry and the Cursillo Movement. Ed and wife Patricia have three children and nine grandchildren, all of whom live nearby in northern Louisiana.
