Kahil El'Zabar is one of the leading exponents of today's AACM (Assoc. For the Advancement of Creative Musicians). The percussionist has recorded 8 Delmark CDs in the last few years with his Ritual Trio (DMK #466, 477), Ethnic Heritage Ensemble (#496, 517) and featuring Pharoah Sanders (#519), Archie Shepp (#514), Joseph Jarman (#507), and Billy Bang (#533). Here Kahil is in trio setting with two of the most exciting jazz musicians associated with the avant-garde. David Murray needs no introduction since he burst on the scene in the early '80s with his octet.
